Curtis Ireland

Curtis Doyle Ireland, 75, passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Walker County to the late Henry Maxey and Dorothy Mae Jarnigan Ireland. He served his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1957 to 1963 . He was the former owner/operator of Ireland Sheetrock Contractors. He enjoyed landscaping and fishing. Above all, he loved his home where he treasured spending time with his family. He was of the Baptist faith and had formerly attended Bethlehem Baptist Church in Chickamauga. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lynnette Chambers Costley Ireland, of Chickamauga, Ga.; their children, Roland Ireland, of South Carolina, Bobby Ireland, of Fort McCoy, Fla., David Ireland, of Flintstone, Ga., Connie Tuggle, of Snellville, Ga., Dianne Costley, of Athens, Ga., Cindy Kister, of Monroe, Ga., Robin Whitlock, of Braselton, Ga., Jeffrey Costley, of Smyrna, Ga.; brothers, Henry Maxey Ireland, Jr., of Ormond Beach, Fla., Archie "Buddy" Ireland, of Rossville, Ga., Tony Ireland, of Rossville, Ga.; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends today from 2-8 p.m. and Monday morning prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Hearth Hospice at 100 Mitchell Road - Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742.
