John Gentry

John Wesley Gentry, 86, of Sale Creek, Tenn., passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2013. He was a member of the Sale Creek United Methodist Church. John was a United States Army Veteran, serving during World War II, he retired from the Hamilton County Board of Education and was a former employee of the Home Store. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ilene Gentry; parents, Efurt and Ila Gentry; and brothers, Jack, Ed, Bo, Junior and Robert. He is survived by three sons, Phillip Gentry, Gary Gentry and Joseph Gentry; four sisters, Ruth Barrentine, Lola Rayland, Kelly Gates and Imogene Davis; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Cecil Baxter officiating. Interment will follow in Welsh-Rogers Cemetery.
