Julian Johnson

Julian Warren Johnson, 88, of East Ridge, Tenn., passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Mr. Johnson was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army in France and Germany. He was a retired Manager of Eckerd Drug Stores after over 40 years of service. He was an avid bowler and golfer and a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Chattanooga Half Century Club. Additionally, he was a big fan of big band music of the 1940s and Gospel music. He was preceded in death by his parents, David A. and Ida Mae Warren Johnson; and a half brother, Charles Johnson. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Betty Johnson and his daughter and son-in-law, Denise (Pat) Hughes of Acworth, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 5, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday and from 9:30 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
