Betty Baker

Betty Frances Gillins Baker, departed her earthly life on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 at a local nursing home. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruby Morton; and nephew, Obie Morton Jr. Betty was a longtime member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church. She attended Howard High School. She leaves to cherish her precious memories a sister, Caroline Robinson; brother, Robert (Althea) Gillins; adopted sister, Brent Clark; cousins, Eula Channelle, James (Tansie) Davis, and Edgar (Sonny) Jones; nieces and nephews, Robinson-Ronald, David (Mary), Carlton (Liza), Cheryl, James, Christie (Roosevelt) Shavers: Morton-Hortense (Floyd) Price, Vanessa, Lesmer (Gene) Orr, Ardenna, Hilton: Gillins-Karry (Sharon), Brian (Rita) and Erica Mayweather, niece and caregiver. Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 19, at Noon at the Advantage Chapel with Pastor Charles E. Moore officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
