John Hutchison

LaFAYETTE John Duchaine Hutchison, 82, born in Chicago, Ill., on June 28, 1931, passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 20, 2013. He met the love of his life, Charlotte J. Hill, at a square dance in Chicago and they've danced ever since. They were married on Aug. 25, 1951 and moved to LaFayette, Ga. He attended LaSalle University where he earned a degree in accounting. He worked for Monon and TAG railroads for many years. Later he worked in the trust departments for Stophel, Caldwell, and Heggie, Attorneys at Law and Suntrust Bank. His hobbies included working with the Boy Scouts, reading, bowling, and working with numbers. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Z. and Cordelia M. Hutchison and brother Gerald L. Hutchison. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Charlotte, and his children, Jean M. Wilson (James), of Flintstone, Ga. and Gregory L. Hutchison (Robin), of Chattanooga, Tenn.; Grandchildren, Brian Wilson Gina), Christina Jenkins (Bryan), and Ian Hutchison, along with five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home in LaFayette, Ga. on Monday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m. Service conducted by Chaplain Dwight Wilson. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church on West Armuchee Rd., LaFayette, Ga. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday Nov. 24, from 4-8 p.m. The arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home.
