Georgia Stroud

Georgia Alexander Stroud, 92, of 3411 Delong Avenue passed away on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013. She was a member of Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She was best known for her sewing and her delicious cakes. She retired from Humana Hospital of East Ridge. After her retirement, she became a Foster Grandparent and served at Girls, Inc. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter "Pete" and son, Walter Lee Stroud. Mrs. Stroud leaves to celebrate and cherish her memories her sons, Peter, Jr., Barry "Sleepy", Marvin Joe, Donald and Dennis; and daughter, Robernetta Thompson, of Canton, Ga. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 30, at Noon at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Interment: Monday Dec. 2, at 10 a.m. at National Cemetery. The body will lie in state after Noon today and the family will receive friends from 67 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
