Doris Strong

Doris J. Strong, 71, passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 2013. She was a graduate of Howard High School, a Tennessee Vols fan, and a member of Pneuma Christian Center. She retired from the Chattanooga City School system and was employed by the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce at the time of her passing.She was preceded in death by her sons, Ronald and Gregory Strong; grandson, Jermia Strong Jr.; sisters, Debra, Brenda and Shirley Lloyd; and brother, Charles Lloyd Jr.; and her parents, Charles Lloyd and Mildred Lloyd.She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted daughter, Cassandra Strong and son, Jermia (Diane) Strong Sr.; granddaughter, Laquesha Morgan; nieces, Yolanda (Marcell) Hawthorne, Kim Lloyd and Cynthia Evans; nephews, Tim and Kelvin (April) Lloyd; sister, Hattie Cooper, and a host of other relatives and friends.Interment will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at Forest Hills Cemetery.A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at Pneuma Christian Center immediately following the burial.The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. this evening at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
