Dorothy Miller

Louise MillerFLINTSTONE Dorothy Louise Long Miller, 94, passed away on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, in a local health care facility.Louise was born in the Cenchat community of Walker County on Aug. 31, 1919 to the late Harry Aaron and Myrtle Stone Long, and spent the majority of her life in the Flintstone area. She was baptized into the Lords church at Cowart Street Church of Christ in 1953 and was a member of Chattanooga Valley Church of Christ for over 60 years. Louise was a member of the Chief John Ross Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and she retired from Erlanger Hospital with 20 years of service having worked as an L.P.N. in the CCU and Recovery Room.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Donald "Bill" Miller; sons, Hilton Donald "Don" Miller, and Bruce Everette Miller; sister, Helen Morton; and brother, Hilton Long.Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Patricia Miller Barney (Chester) Pelfrey, of Flintstone; sons, Ned Aaron (Sharon) Miller, of Choctaw, Okla., and Timothy Alan (Kathy) Miller, of Lookout Mountain, Tenn.; daughters-in-law, Chieko Yamane Miller and Joyce Stoker Miller; sisters-in-law, Ella Ruth Long and Peggy Jean Hambley; grandchildren, Nancy Herbert, Susan Woolard, Ken, Todd and Paul Barney, Kevin Thompson and Chad Miller, Brandi Miller, Kyle Miller, Megan Walker, Jennifer Silberman and Kristyn Clark; great-grandchildren, Summer Woolard, Cooper Woolard, Logan Barney, Meredith Barney, Aaron Barney, Bailey Miller, Tucker Miller, Caroline Miller, Shelby Thompson, Regan Thompson, Cole Walker, Allison Walker, Carlisle Silberman, Charlie Silberman, Rosemary Clark, McCarty Clark; several nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Minister Reid Perry officiating.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Chattanooga Valley Church of Christ, 419 Nickajack Road, Flintstone, GA 30725, or to the Alzheimers Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Drive, Ste. 8, Chattanooga, TN 37421.To share expressions of sympathy, visit her online guestbook at lane-southcrestchapel.com.The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
