Bettye Long

Bettye Long, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 A native of Chattanooga, she was the daughter to the late Clyde L. and Nettie L. Harvey Pass.For many years she was an active member and Sunday school teacher at Central Baptist Church in Woodmore and currently a member of First Baptist Church of Dunlap.She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin E. Long Sr.; and great-grandson, Hunter J. Gattis.Bettye is survived by her three children, Peggy Ann Ball and husband, T.R., Gloria Rollins and husband, Charlie and Marvin "Eddie" E. Long Jr. and wife, Jennifer; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today and noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel.Services for Bettye will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeremy Byrd officiating Interment will follow to Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.Memorial contribution may be made to First Baptist Church of Dunlap, P.O.
