Sr.CHICKAMAUGA Charles "Chuck" Joseph Askew Sr., 47 passed away on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, surrounded by his family.He was a lifelong resident of Chickamauga and a member of The First Baptist Church of Chickamauga. He was a graduate of Gordon Lee High School class of 1985, a member of Phi Chi fraternity, at Young Harris College, and was an avid University of Georgia Football fan. He had been employed by Walker County Government for the past 13 years and was the owner/operator of Askew Metal Roofing Co.Chuck was preceded in death by his mother, Regina Jane Raines Askew.He is survived by his wife, of 11 years, Rena Askew; father, William "Bill" Askew; children, Joey Askew, of Chickamauga, Emily Askew, of Chickamauga, Lindsay Wiles, of Chickamauga, and Jessica (Kody) Stewart, of Macon, Ga.; brothers, William "Mark" (Jane) Askew III and David Pender (Melinda) Askew Sr., both of Chickamauga; nieces and nephews, Haley, William, Lloyd and Penn.The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Fred Holcomb officiating.Interment will follow in Chickamauga City Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. today, 11 a.m. to 1 and 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, and prior to the service on Thursday.Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home, J.
