JESUP David Edward Holland Sr., 90, formerly of Whiteside, Tenn., died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013. He resided the past 18 years in Jesup, Ga.Our beloved daddy, brother, and papaw too completed his days on this earth to join his wife of 56 years, Beatrice DeFoy Holland, who he has so greatly missed and be reunited with those that preceded him. His parents, Jesse and Ethie Basham Holland; sisters, Ella and Etta Holland and Esther Hubble; brother, Marvin "Bud"; infant children, Anita and Michael; daughter, Donna Chapman; grandchildren, Anita Chapman and Jess Chancy.He worked with his father and brother in coal mines and family lumber mill prior to joining the Army and serving with the 349th Ordinance Depot Co. as a truck driver and company clerk in Central Europe. He retired from Container Corporation of America after 30 years of employment.He is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Rev. Vernon) Jones, Karen (Joe) Willis, Nelda (Charles) Kennedy; and son David (Vanessa) Holland Jr.; sister, Virginia Young; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at Whiteside Church of God officiated by Rev. Hulett Smith, Rev. Luke Williams and Rev.
