Glenn Forrester

CLOUDLAND Glenn Stephen Forrester, 77, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, in a local hospital.Mr. Forrester was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard from 1958-1962. The naval aircraft carrier was stationed in San Diego and he worked as an aviation structural mechanic. Following his service to his country, Mr. Forrester was employed with Pro Group Inc. for more than 40 years as a supervisor. He was a member of Cloudland Presbyterian Church and enjoyed fishing with his brothers, golfing, camping, hunting and traveling, and he was known for his story-telling.His wife of 44 years, Beverly Sue Parham Forrester, preceded him in death in 2005.Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Becky Forrester and David Hilley, of Chickamauga, Stevie and Chuck Carver, of Rising Fawn; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Kelly Forrester, of Cartersville; grandchildren, Amber Carver, Allison Forrester, Madison Hilley, Charlie Carver, Garrison Forrester, Tate Hilley, Adrian Sneed and John Paul Sneed; brothers, LeVaughn (Pat) Forrester and Doug (Cris) Forrester.Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park with Pastor Chuck Carver officiating.To share expressions of sympathy, visit his online guestbook at lane-southcrestchapel.com.The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. today at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
