DeLois Briglia

SAUGERTIES, N.Y. DeLois Bolde Briglia, 72, formerly of Eddieville, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013 at Health Alliance Hospital, Broadway Campus, Kingston. She was born in Dunlap, Tenn., a daughter of the late Herbert Jackson and Jane Evadean Harmon Ewton.As a young woman, she was employed at the shirt factory in Kingston, and was a park attendant at Robert Post Park, in Town of Ulster. A member of Rondout Valley Resort, she loved camping and the outdoors. She was also an avid gardener, with a "green thumb" for growing beautiful roses. A very spiritual woman who believed in the appearance of angels, she was an active member of Binnewater Union Free Church, where she faithfully attended services along with her beloved dogs, Puslia and Harley.DeLois cherished anytime she could spend with her family, and her dear friends, especially at the Saugerties Village Diner, where they were regulars. DeLois was an extremely passionate fan of country music. Two highlights of her life were winning a trip to the Grand Ole Opry, and vacationing in Hawaii with her husband Michael C. Briglia, where she met Don Ho. Most of all, she loved her grand, great, and great-great grandchildren, who she lived for.She was preceded in death by her husbands, Wilson Harold Bolde and Michael Charles Briglia; daughter, Donna Louise Bolde; sister, Marlene Ewton; brothers, Gary, Jerry, and HB Ewton; and brother-in-law, Thomas Bowman.DeLois is survived by her daughters, Anna Marie (Valdimir) Jambrih and Lisa (Paul) Bomba, both of Kingston; sons, Glen W. (Darlene) Bolde, of Jacksonville, Fla., Wilson H. Bolde Jr., of Accord, Lannie (Susan) Bolde, of Ulster Park, Martin (Carol) Bolde, of Liberty, S.C., and Richard (Patricia) Brunnegraber, of Navarre, Fla.; sisters, Priscilla Bowman, of Signal Mountain, Betty Sue Wooden, of Crossville, and Virginia (Waymon) Harvey, of Dunlap; brothers, Waymon (Donna) Ewton, Ricky Ewton, both of Dunlap; and Jimmy (Cindy) Ewton, of Crossville; sister-in-law, Betty Ewton, of Dunlap; eighteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service was held at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home with Pastor Albert Schofield Jr., celebrant. Burial was in the family plot at Wiltwyck Rural Cemetery.Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. CDT Saturday, Oct. 19, in the Ewton Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Stacy Seals officiating.
