Marvin "Bill" Rayford Williams, 89, of Lookout Mountain, Ga., passed away Saturday Oct. 19, 2013 at his residence. A lifelong resident of the Lookout Mountain area, Bill was a Brick Mason for many years, a member of Payne's Chapel United Methodist Church in Hinkle, Georgia, Past Master of the Mountain City Masonic Lodge, a member of the Shriner Bus Unit and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army where he served during W.W. II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rayford and Addie Price Williams and several brothers and sisters.He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Christine Fowler Williams, of Lookout Mountain, Ga.; three children, Lynda (Randal) McSpadden, of Lookout Mountain, Ga., Marvin (Donna) Williams, of Rossville, Ga., and Roger Williams, of Lookout Mountain., Ga.; sister, Louise Ewing, of Lexington, Ky.; brother, David Williams, of Lookout Mountain., Ga.; four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 22, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 2-9 p.m. and Tuesday until funeral time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga in memory of Bill.
