John Peterson

John Alexander Peterson, 85, passed away on Oct. 9, 2012 in Tequesta, Fla.He was born Sept. 7, 1927, in Minneapolis, Minn. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was wounded in the Korean War and received the Purple Heart. He worked as the manager of egg processing plants around the country, finally retiring as the owner of Farms of Loret egg company in Chattanooga.He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Thora Peterson.He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lorraine Peterson; son, Bill (Jan) Peterson, of Madison Ala.; daughter, Kathy Peterson; son-in-law, Tom Knapp, of Tequesta, Fla.; sister, Gloria (Lowell) Benson, of Roseville, Minn.; two grandchildren, Jamie (Michelle) Peterson, of Frisco, Texas, Jill (Ted) Amey, of Madison Ala.; and six great-grandchildren.A memorial will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Shelter A.
