David Lawson

LaFAYETTE David "Dave" Deleon Lawson, 82, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013.He was born to the late William Macon Lawson and Nancy Montine Cannon Lawson on Dec. 10, 1930, in Auburndale, Fla. He attended Bethel Baptist Church, retired from the Insurance Industry working with both Liberty National and Gulf Life Insurance Companies and upon his retirement served as a funeral assistant with Wilson Funeral Home. Dave enjoyed woodworking and gardening.He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Evelyn Hathcock Lawson.Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, David M. and Peg Lawson, Richard D. and Kaye Lawson, and Van Lawson; stepson, Rick Carter; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.The funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at the Pavilion in Chickamauga City Cemetery, Chickamauga, Ga.Online register book available at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Homes, LaFayette Chapel, 706-638-1122.
