Billy Webb

Billy H. Webb, of Hixson, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013. He was 86 years old.Billy was born on Jan. 29, 1927. He served our country during World War II in the Merchant Marines and during the Korean War in the U. S. Army. Billy retired from DuPont with 38 years of service. He was a longtime member of Red Bank Baptist Church and the Mens Fellowship Sunday School Class. Billy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard K. and Ted Webb. Billy is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Betty J. Webb; children, Gwen (Michael ) Ward, Steve (Tammy) Webb and Karen (Mike) Smith; grandchildren, Lindsay Ward (Kenny) Hammontree, Andrew Ward, Kendall Ward (Brad) Rogers, Jordan Vazquez and William Webb; great grandchildren, Jackson and Clara Hammontree and Berkeley Rogers; siblings, Fred (Beula) Webb and Helen (Joe) Perry; and several close nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday Sept. 4, at the North Chapel.Services for Billy will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bert Jones and the Rev. Bill Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.Memorial contributions may be made in Billys name to the Music Department at Red Bank Baptist Church, 4000 Dayton Blvd, Red Bank, TN 37415 or to Hospice of Chattanooga at P.
