Jane Gass "Mama J." Shipp, 81, of Chattanooga passed away Friday, Aug. 30, 2013.She was a member of First-Centenary United Methodist Church and had been involved in Positive Christian Singles.She was retired from DuPont as a computer operator after 30 years of service and worked for the U.S. Postal Service.Janie was preceded in death by her brother, Jay D. Gass; and a sister, Jeanie Matthews.Survivors include her daughter, Coyee Shipp Langston; son, Clay Shipp; three grandchildren, Jessica Langston Love, Ellee Langston and Ruthie Kilgore.Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at Forest Hills Cemetery.Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Friday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road for a procession to the cemetery.The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice.Please share your thoughts and memories at www.ChattanoogaEastChapel.com.
