Mary Cooke

Mary S. Cooke, 90, passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2013.She was the fifth of ten children. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Daisy, Tenn. She was a homemaker and a seamstress. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, Ferrel, to army reunions in Arizona and Wisconsin. She and her husband traveled independently to Florida and California and visited with family in those states. She was very involved in the community and volunteered to help friends and church members during their troubles. She also assisted her husband, Ferrel, at their family business, Cookes Garage, in Soddy-Daisy.Survivors include her husband, Ferrel T. Cooke, who she married in January 1947; son, Samuel Cooke, of Soddy-Daisy; daughters, Diane (Kenneth) Croft and Sharon Stewart, all of Soddy-Daisy; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Anthony Nix officiating.Interment will follow in Poe Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 4, at the funeral home.Condolences and memories can be shared at www.williamsonandsons.com.Arrangements are by Williamson and Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Pike, Soddy-Daisy, TN 37379.
