Bobby Owens

Bobby Gene Owens, 80, of Ooltewah, passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013.He was born in Aug. 21, 1933, in Alabama where he lived until 1971. He was a devout Seventh-day Adventists and served as deacon at the Ooltewah SDA Church for many years. He was employed with Bishop Baking Co., Cleveland, for over 40 years. His sales position required him to travel approximately 8,000 miles per month covering many states. He was a loyal and dedicated employee. He retired in 2001 and then to his great enjoyment, he took an after retirement job with the Rave Theater and made many new friends. Declining health prevented him from continuing to work, but he made many great memories of his eight years with Rave.Bobbys life was richly blessed by the love and devotion shown to him through the years and especially during his final days by his wonderful children, their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. What a precious testimony and tribute to the man they all loved, honored and respected and the man they were happy to call, Dad and Granddad.He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Christina Brooke Farrow Stone.He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Sue Veazey Owens, daughter, Bobbie Sue Owens (Chris) Farrow; son, Randy Martin (Sue) Owens; grandson, Brandon (Katherine) Farrow; and Cole Owens; great-grandchildren, Caden and Ali Farrow.Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, in thefuneral home chapel with Pastor Mike Pettengill, officiating.A sunset burial will be held at 7 p.m. in Collegedale Memorial Park Cemetery.
