Dorothy Ray

Dorothy Janette Ray, 79, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013. She was the daughter of the late William and Jesse Lee Henson Johnson. Dorothy was a longtime resident of the East Brainerd community and member of Cornerstone apostolic Church. She was very generous and caring individual, always putting others first. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her sons, William E. Ray and Tony C. Ray; daughters, Donna R. Ray and Janis D. McLemore; grandchildren, Ricky McLemore, Tyler Ray, Heather VanMetre, Zachary McLemore, Brandi Ray and Crystal Underwood; great-grandchildren, Joshua Slayton, Brooklynn Alyssa McLemore, Tytan Ray and Talon Ray; brother, William Johnson; sisters, Patricia Sutton, Diane Phillips and Betty Criscoe; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at Noon Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Cornerstone Apostolic Church, located at 7548 Igou Gap Road, with Pastor Joel Austin and Rev. Raymond Sloan officiating.
