James PraterJames E. Prater, Sr. 79, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013.A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Mr. Prater was employed by Sears for more than 40 years. He was a member of City Church for over 30 years, and was an avid supporter of Teen Challenge and was involved in prison ministry for 35 years.He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Prater; son, James Prater, Jr.; daughter Deborah Denise Daughtergy. He is survived by his nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Mike Chapman officiating.
