DECATUR John Nicholas Red Feather Hood, 31, passed away on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 at his home. He was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., on Jan. 8, 1982 and has been a lifelong resident of the Decatur, Tenn., area. John was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving son, father, and husband. John was loved by all those who had the opportunity to know him and will be greatly missed by many.He is preceded in death by his grandparents Gerald Phillips and William and Mary Hood; and also two brothers Gordon Murphy and Brandon Hood.John leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother Sharon Hood; his loving wife Heather Hood; four children Brad, Ethan Leslie Ann and Michael; his father and step mother John P. and Shirley Hood; one sister Annissia Lynn Miller; two brothers DeWight Hood (Gena) and Joseph Hood; two aunts Michele and Gloria; one uncle Tony; one great aunt Ruby; one nephew Arron Womack; and many other extended family members and a host of special friends.The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. in the parlor of Companion Funeral Home.A graveside service is planned for Tuesday morning, Sept. 17, at 11 a.m. in the McInturff Cemetery in Birchwood, TN with the Rev.
