Carl Carpenter

Carl Eugene Carpenter, 87, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013.He was a member of the Soddy Church of God. Carl was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from TVA and was a member of Soddy Masonic Lodge #418 F&AM. Carl enjoyed making toys for children all over the world and loved to go on mission trips with his grandson, Tony.He was preceded in death by his wife, Oneida Carpenter; grandson, Heath Shipley; brothers, Edward Carpenter and Frank Williams.Survivors include his daughters, Sandra (Lloyd) McAfee, of Ooltewah, Debbie Milligan, of Texas, Shelia Shipley, of Soddy-Daisy and Anita Roman, of Alabama; sons, Robbie (Wanda) Carpenter, Jerry (Sue) Carpenter and Rick (Diane) Carpenter, all of Soddy-Daisy; sisters, Charlotte Lawson, of Knoxville and Effie Matthews, of Seymour, Tenn.; sisters, Jean Patterson and Joyce Phillips; brothers, Jim Williams, of Nashville and Carlin Carpenter, of Soddy-Daisy; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev.
