Georgia Thompson

Georgia Ellen Reel Thompson, 80, of Fort Valley, Ga., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013.She was born on July 19, 1933 in Sale Creek, Tenn., to Lester H. and Allie Mae Lyons Reel. Georgia was of the Pentecostal faith. She attended the Assembly of God in Warner Robbins, Ga. She was a loving wife, mother, Nana and friend to all.She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Edward Thompson; grandson, Justin Lanter; parents, Lester and Allie Reel; stepmother, Maxine Payne Brown Reel; sisters, Beulah (Malcolm) Brown, Virginia (James) Gallahan, and Vera (Jack) Hickman; brother, Charles Reel; stepbrothers, Russell Eugene Brown and Samuel Brown; nieces, Rhonda Hickman and Donna Lynn Davis; and stepnephews, Eddie and Mike Brock.Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Edward Thompson, of Fort Valley, Ga.; daughters, Teresa (Roger) Lanter, of Taylorsville, Ga., and Debbie (David) Hancock, of Calhoun, Ga.; son, Joseph Lester Thompson; grandchildren, Clint (Kayla) Lanter, Brad (Cristin) Durham and their daughter Savannah, and Kelly (Chris) Hudson and their son Hollis; brother, Donny (Loretta) Reel, of New Braunfels, Texas; sister, Bernice Reel, of Fort Valley; stepsisters, Nancy Ruth Logue, of Warner Robbins, Diane Morgan, of Bakewell, Louise McCarter, of Dayton, and Darlene Thomas, of Sale Creek; stepbrothers, Lebron Brown, of Dallas, Ga.,and Julius Brown, of Soddy-Daisy. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews, and dear friends.The funeral service will be held at noon Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home chapel with Bishop Clayton Privett officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery, Cartersville, Ga., with the Rev.
