William Rose

Sr.William Earl Rose Sr., 66, of Ooltewah, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013.He was an active member of Bayside Baptist Church.William was a 1965 graduate of Kirkman High School, a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired truck driver from JAT Oil. He drove for 40 years and had received several driving excellence awards. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved gardening, whitewater rafting, hiking, riding trains and riding motorcycles. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association.He loved being with friends, family and neighbors, reading and working on computers. He was known for writing poetry, and was a romantic with very beautiful penmanship. He was a faithful follower of Jesus and loved helping others and did so with a contagious smile. He had a compassionate and giving Christ-Like sprit feeding the homeless at the Community Kitchen and giving to the Samaritan Center.He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Clarence and Lura Rose; one son, Earl Rose; one sister, Ann Lai; beloved nephew, David Lai.He is survived by his children, Chris Rose, of Idaho, Tim Rose, USAF, of Arkansas, Christie Dennis, of Hixson; one brother, Lawrence Rose, of Harrison; one sister, Harriett Bruton, of Ooltewah; two grandchildren, Jacob Moore and William Dennis; several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today, Sept. 22, at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home or you may visit the online guestbook @ www.turnerfamilyfuneralhome.com.Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, at Bayside Baptist Church with the Rev. Eric Stitts officiating.Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the A.L.S Tennessee Chapter @ P.O.
