Betty Ford

Betty Jean Ford, 91 of Ooltewah, fell asleep in Jesus Sunday, Sept 22, 2013, and is awaiting that great resurrection morning.She loved her Savoir and was of Seventh-day Adventist faith. Betty was born to Oliver Raymond and Bessie Shreve, missionaries in Shanghai, China and South Africa. She went to Nursing School at the White Memorial in Los Angeles, Calif.. She then obtained a masters in psychology and worked as a school psychologist; later she became a real estate agent. She was also church organist for over 30 years at Chattanooga First Seventh-day Adventist Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Augustus Carroll Ford.She is survived by her four children, G.A. Ford, Dr. Dennis Ford, Dr. Cynthia Hollie and Dr. Tamarin Larson; and eight grandchildren; sister, Winsome Erick.Memorial Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church.The interment will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, in Chattanooga National Cemetery.Visit www.heritagefh.com to share words of comfort to the family.In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in her honor to The Samaritan Center or 3ABN (3 Angels Broadcasting Network).The family will receive friends at 3 p.m. Oct. 19, 2013, at the church.Arrangements by Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road.
