Frances Mathis

Frances Calhoun Mathis, 82, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013.She was a Rossville native before moving to Hixson recently. Francis loved to share her baked pies and fudge with family and friends during Christmas Holidays. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Mathis; son, Anthony Woods; and several brothers.She is survived by her daughter, Sue (John) Champion, Hixson; grandson, John Gary Champion, Rossville, Ga.; two sisters, Libby (Willard) Arrowood, Cartersville, Ga., Helen Long, Newnan, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 24, in the funeral home chapel with Rev.
