Jr.James Jones Jr., 86, the only son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Frank Jones, left the walk of man Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013. He was born Nov. 24, 1926, in Chattanooga.He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Parker Jones; daughter, Brenda Jones-Fuqua; sister, Catherine Walker; and parents."Jones" or "JJ", as he was so lovingly and respectfully called by his family and friends, was a graduate of Howard High School. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army and actively served in World War II and the Korean War Conflict.He was a member of Mount Canaan Baptist Church and a member of an Elite Group of Men, affectionately known as "The Guys".He was an avid bowling enthusiast. Jones was a proud member of the East 3rd Street Barber Shop bowling team.He was formerly employed Paramount Cleaners and retired from Kleen-A-Matic.His presence will forever be felt in the hearts of his beloved family: devoted son, Michael Anthony (Sandra) Jones; three grandchildren, Zenda Jones, Robin (Michael) Lloyd and VaWiljamn (Rebecca) Wilson-Jones; two great-granddaughter and stepsister, Ann Martin; sister-in-law, Georgia P. Snodgrass; brother-in-law, Bennie Walker; a host of loving nieces, nephews and cousins; two devoted friends, Essie Hinton and Chevajier Thompson; devoted cousin, Rev. William (Diane) Clemons.Service will be held noon Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995; the Rev. Wayne Snodgrass, officiating.Interment: Chattanooga National Cemetery.The body will lie in state after noon today and the family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m. at John P Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
