Suzanne Scott

Suzanne Odom Scott, 81, of Signal Mountain, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, in a hospital after a short illness.She was a wife, mother, and teacher at Thrasher Elementary School. Sue graduated from Chattanooga High School and University of Tennessee Knoxville where she was a member of Chi Omega fraternity and Chattanooga Junior League.Sue was the daughter of the late Bill and Lyda Odom and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert P. Scott Jr.She was a member of Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church.Survivors include her sister, Lou Oliphant, of Signal Mountain; three children, Valerie, of Charleston, S.C.; Rob, of Soddy-Daisy, Ben and wife, Elisabeth, of Atlanta; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren.Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church, Marr Chapel, with Dr. Bill Dudley officiating.The family will receive friends following the service.Memorial contributions may be made to Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church or National Parkinson Foundation Inc., 1501 NW 9th Avenue/Bob Hope, Miami, FL 33136-1494, or National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 733 Third Ave., 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10017.Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chattanooganorthchapel.com.Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
