Elmer Lawson

Elmer Clyde Lawson 83, passed away on Monday March 31, 2014, in a local hospital. He was born on Dec. 24, 1930, to the late Fred Lee Lawson and Sara Jane Hicks Lawson, was retired machinist from Central Centrifugal and was veteran of the U.S. Army and was Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia Ann Lawson; sons, Bobby Clyde Lawson and Matthew Ray Lawson; brother. Cecil Lawson; and sister, Edith Smart. Survivors include his grandson, Bobby Clyde Lawson Jr.; great-grandson Jason James Lawson; brother, Carl Lawson; sisters, Ruby Walker, Flora Ritchie and Betty Dennis; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today, April 2, 2014, in the Advantage Chapel with Pastor Daniel Beard officiating. Entombment will follow the service in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
