Mary Alexander

Mary Faye Cox Alexander, 81, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014, at her home. She was born Aug. 31, 1932 in Chattanooga to the late Duncan and Sarah Cox. She was a member of East Brainerd Church of Christ. Her sisters, Frances Philpot, Lois Powe; and brothers, Buddy Cox, Luke Cox, and Charles Cox preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, James L. Alexander; daughters, Connie (Jim) Pilkinton, of Nashville; Cynthia (Gene) Maroon, of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Rachel Hulsey, Mark (Erica) Pilkinton; Nicholas (Courtney) Betancourt and Mary (Drew) Ross; sisters, Martha (Buddy) Lamb; Ruth (Martin) Harris; Edna (Charles) Ballard; Barbara (Horace) Turner; and brothers, Lewis (JoAnn) Cox; Larry (Catherine) Cox. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today, April 3, 2014, at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park with Minister C.G. Griffith officiating. Nicholas Betancourt, Gene Maroon, Drew Ross, Mark Pilkinton, Larry Cox, and Jim Pilkinton will serve as pallbearers.
