Steven Beaty

Steven Dale Beaty, 56, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 30, 2014. Born on July 7, 1957 in Fort Payne, Ala., Steven graduated from Fort Payne High School, and he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. For the past 20 years, he has worked for Bellsouth/AT&T. Steven was an avid bicyclist and member of the Memphis High Tailers Bicycle Club, and he loved the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. He was a devoted family man, son, husband, father, grandfather and brother. Mr. Beaty was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Anne Beaty; and his father, Wendell Beaty. Steven is survived by his wife, Patti W. Beaty; his daughter, Toni Carrigan (Sean); his stepson, Corey Weldon (Tobi); his mother, Mildred Evergreen Beaty; his sister, Theresa Westbrook (Danny); five grandchildren, Austin, Jeremy, Madison, Jacob and Ivey; and his niece, LaRanda. The family will receive friends beginning at 5 p.m. today, April 2, at Family Funeral Care on Summer Avenue in Memphis, and Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. The family will also gather to receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at Chattanooga Funeral Home on Moore Road, and Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. The interment will be held later at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
