Steven Penley

Steven Richard "Rick" Penley, 53, passed away quietly Saturday evening, April 5, 2014. He lived his life in Chattanooga. He worked for Hamilton County Parks & Recreations for 14 years, later he worked for Delps Industry where he had an industrial injury that caused a lifelong disability. Rick was a happy, fun loving guy. His passion was shooting pool and was very competitive. He would give a person the shirt off his back, and then button it for him. (But if Rick got cold he would take it back). Rick will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts. He was loved by many, but he will have no more pain and will be able to see again. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Penley; grandparents, Ruth and Carson Potter; and a brother, Michael Penley. Survivors include his mother, Elaine Penley Cone; sister, Cheri Lynn Penley (Will Gilstrap); he is leaving two children, Jennifer (Bert) Dye, Michael Penley; nephew, Mitchell (Amanda) Carter; granddaughter, Skyler Penley; the mother of his children, Jeanie Penley; and a devoted dog, Pebbles. The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. today at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home or you may visit the online guestbook @ www.turnerfamilyfuneralhome.com. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, in the funeral home chapel with Minister John Cupp and Kelly Selvy officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
