Ruth McDaniel

Ruth Ernestine McDaniel, 78, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, in Chattanooga. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. Ms. Ruth was a faithful member of Stony Point Baptist Church. She also served on the Usher Board at Rock Island Baptist Church. She was a former school patrol crossing guard for the Chattanooga Police Department. She retired from DuPont. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorine Coulter Hyatte and Wiley Sylvester Hyatte; beloved husband of 53 years, Robert Glynn McDaniel, Sr.; seven brothers and two sisters. Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Geraleen Young, Rose Belinda Davis, Debra Fay Skates; son, Robert G. McDaniel, Jr.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Juanita McArthur, of Miami, Fla.; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and dear friends. The body will lie in state beginning at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Stoney Point Baptist Church. The Funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Edward Thrasher officiating.
