Claudia Tate

Claudia McDowell Tate, 84, died in a Chattanooga hospital Sunday, April 13, 2014. Claudia retired from her own restaurant, Claudia's Restaurant after owning and operating it for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Ethel Mathis McDowell; sisters, Flossie Narramore and Violet Lively; brothers, Odis McDowell, Otto McDowell, Greer McDowell, and Thomas McDowell. Survivors include her, daughter, Peggy Smith, Dunlap; sons, Harold Tate, Madison, Tenn., and Ronnie Tate, Dunlap; brother, R.J. McDowell, S.C.; three grandchildren, Marlin Smith, Mindy Tennille, and Brittany Tate; two great-grandchildren, Evan and Ethan Dennis; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. CDT in the Ewton Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Terry Barker officiating. Burial will follow in Cookston Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 2-8 p.m. CDT. Pallbearers: Randy McDowell, David McDowell, Earl McDowell, Steve Farley, Donnie Johnson, and Ronnie Long. Honorary Pallbearers: Avon Farris and Debbie Lasater.
