David White Sr.

David Lee "Pete" "Daddy Rabbit" White Sr., 83, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn ODaniel White. He was a veteran of Korean War and served in Japan. David retired from Dixie Yarns where he was Quality Control Manager at Watkins Street then Lupton City Plant. He was president of American Society for Quality Control Textile and Needle Thread Division, president of Rossville High School Band Boosters, Pack Leader and Scout Master, choir director and Member of Brooks Memorial United Methodist Church, Jr. Achievement Advisor and oldest graduate of Chattanooga State as a pharmaceutical technician. Survivors are sons, David Lee White Jr. and wife, Laura, Howard Daniel White and wife, Joycelynn, Leonard Allison White and wife, Sandy, Lawrence Lyle White and wife, Lisa; daughter, Penny Sue White Jordan and husband, Steve; sisters, Margaret ODaniel and husband, Jimmy Daraj and Patricia ODaniel; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace with Rev. Lyle White, Rev. Chris Dover and Rev. Terry Huffaker officiating.
