Jessie McClain

Jessie McClain, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, April 14, 2014 at her residence. She was a faithful member of Miracle Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir and served on the Mother's Board. She also was employed by the Fletcher Bright family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Claudie Mae Boyd; father, Shaq Boyd; husband, Johnnie McClain; and daughter, Juanita Higgins. Survivors include her son, Dewitt (Jessie) Boyd; daughters, Joyce (Robert) Elder, JoAnn Wilkerson, and Patricia Hill; 25 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; dearest best friend, Ruth Knox; and a host of other relatives and friends. She will lie-in-state today after 1 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 12 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Randy Jacks Sr. as the eulogist. Burial: Chattanooga National Cemetery.
