Shirley Vance

Shirley Ann Vance, 63, of Chattanooga, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, surrounded by family and friends. She was an active member of Hawkinsville Missionary Baptist Church and a former member of New Enon Baptist Church. Shirley attended Chattanooga City Schools and retired from the Tennessee Aquarium after over 15 years of service. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael Vance; parents, Mary Lee and Marshall Fears; and siblings, Betty Tolliver, Larry Lee, Nobel Tolliver Jr., Barbara Tolliver and Vernell Tolliver. Survivors include her daughters, Cheryl Lee, Jacqueline Lee and Latisha Vance; sisters, Doris (Robert) Smith, Laverne Lee and Glenda (Tommy) Shropshire; brothers, Edward (Dorothy) Lee, George (Sandra) Burrell and Kevin Green; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The body will lie-in-state today after 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday, April 21, 2014 at Hawkinsville Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Hampton as the eulogist. Interment at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
