Jane Wythe

Jane S. Wythe, 95, of West Hartford, Conn., and formerly of Chattanooga, wife of the late Evan H. Wythe, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014. She was born in Chicago, Ill., daughter of the late Frank Thatcher Saunders and Mary Wall Saunders. Jane graduated from Girls Preparatory School in Chattanooga and attended Randolph Macon Womens College in Lynchburg, Va. Jane was very active at First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga, where she was a Sunday school teacher and worked for Changed Lives for over 20 years. She was also a member of the Junior League of Chattanooga. Jane is survived by her daughter, The Rev. Helen M. Moore and her husband, Thomas Moore III; five grandchildren, Hadley Taylor and her husband, Scott; Courtney Newcomb and her husband, Daniel; Kendall Vail; Frederick Brewer and his wife, Jill McTiernan; and Grayson Moore and her husband, Alec Stern; and seven great-grandchildren, Matthew Taylor; Mackenzie, Taylor and Kate Newcomb; and Cooper, Grayson and Campbell Clynch. She was predeceased by her brother, Frank T. Saunders Jr. Calling hours are from 12:30-1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug, 9, 2014 at Introvigne Funeral Home Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, Conn., followed by a Funeral Service at 2 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 7 Spring St., Stafford Springs, Conn. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga, with burial to be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Chattanooga. Memorial donations in Jane's name may be made to Grace Episcopal Church, 7 Spring St., Stafford Springs, CT 06076, where she was a parishioner for the past two years.
