Charles Spencer

Charles Thomas Spencer, 69, of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014 in a local hospital. He was a member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Mattie Snowden; parents, Louis and Lena Spencer Sr.; and brother, Richard Spencer. Survivors include his devoted wife of 40 years, Kay Spencer; sons, Perry Spencer, Rush Spencer, both of Nashville, and Thomas Spencer, of Chattanooga; daughter, Charla Spencer, of Chattanooga; six grandchildren, Tiera McKnight, of Nashville, MaKayla Spencer, Brandon Spencer, Ryann Spencer, Rodrick Bonds, and Jayda Spencer, all of Chattanooga; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Louis (Joyce) Spencer Jr., of Clarksville, Ronald Spencer, and Dwight Spencer (Sonya), both of Nashville; sister, Jacqueline (Walter) Ellison, of Nashville; aunt, Bertha Jean Turner, of Nashville; brothers-in-law, Anthony (Veronica) Beasley, of Nashville, Ronald (Sharon) Beasley, of LaFayette, Ga., and William Beasley, of Johnson City; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; special friends, Erica Morgan, Marilyn Brown, Priscilla Glenn, Shirley Hanner, Vincinetta Brown, Thelma Crutch; and many other friends. Visitation is from 6-7 p.m. today, Aug. 17, at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be noon Monday at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop Dr. Martin H. Sandilands the eulogist. Burial: Highland Memorial Gardens.
