J.R. Derryberry

John Robert "J.R." Derryberry, 77, of Lookout Mountain, Ga., passed away on Friday, Aug. 15, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of Lookout Mountain and was of the Christian Faith. He retired from Combustion Engineering in 1987 after 30 years and was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. J.R. was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Charlie and Bertha Thompson Derrryberry; and sisters, Shirley Gordon Price and Edna Irene Howard. He is survived by his loving wife, of 56 years, Marty Derryberry; children, Connie (Stacy Stephens) Green, Larry (Wendy) Derryberry and Todd (Jamie) Derryberry; sister, Thelma McDaniel; grandchildren, Justin (Erica) Derryberry, Brittany (Cliff) Webb and Zach Green; great-grandchildren, Caden, Emmalie and Gracie; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 18, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. today, Aug. 17, and prior to leaving for the cemetery on Monday. Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
