Stanley Porter

Stanley Lewis Porter, 59, of Chattanooga, passed away Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at his residence. He was the dearly beloved son of Helen Rose Brown Porter. Stanley had moved in with his mother, in order to help his brother, Mitchell, take care of her after she developed colon cancer. Together, Stanley and Mitchell made life a lot more enjoyable for her. The three of them took their meals together. Stanley lived upstairs with his mother so she wouldn't be by herself. He worked at Chattanooga Bakery and read a lot of books. Stanley was a good decent person who helped other people whenever he could. There aren't enough words to explain how blessed his mother was to have him as a son. Everyone who knew him will forever be grateful for the time they had with him. His mom looks forward to the time she will be united with him in heaven. Stanley will also be very much missed by his sister, Sheree Rousseau, as well as his entire family. You helped me so much and I will always be grateful. We love you and miss you so much Stanley but we know we will see you in heaven soon and we'll all be together again forever. Mom, Mitchell, Sheree; nephews, Craig and Jonathan; nieces, Taylor and Stephanie; and cousins. The family will receive friends 3-5 p.m. today, Aug. 17, at Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace. Visit www.lanefh.com to share condolences. Arrangements by Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace, 877-3524.
