Jean Wood

Jean M. Wood, 73, loving wife of the late Peter H. Wood, of North Augusta, S.C., entered into rest Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014. Mrs. Wood was a native of Chattanooga, but has lived in the Augusta area for a number of years. She was a graduate of Webster College and retired as a teacher from Aiken Technical College. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and was involved with many ministries there. Her family cherished her loving spirit. Family members include daughter, Mary Parel and husband, Scott; sons, Pete Wood and wife, Amanda, Bill Wood and wife, Peggy; grandchildren, Kayla Parel, Cory Parel, Patrick Wood, Casey Wood; sister, Ann Thompson. She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Payne. The visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at the Holy Family Hall at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 501 S. Moore Road, Chattanooga, TN 37412. A funeral Mass will be held noon Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Rev. James Vick officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery in Chattanooga, immediately following the Mass.
