Kathleen Murphy

Kathleen Darwin Murphy, 77, of Lookout Mountain, Ga., peacefully passed away at her home on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014. Kathleen was born on Sept. 23, 1935 in Chattanooga and was the daughter of Judge and Mrs. Frank Sharp Darwin. She was married to Raymond Ryan Murphy Jr. for 55 years. Kathleen attended Normal Park Elementary, Girls Preparatory School, UTK and UTC. She worked at TVA and did some modeling for various department stores in Chattanooga. She was a member of the Junior League of Chattanooga and Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; her twin brother, Frank Darwin Jr.; and her husband, Ray. She is survived by her three children, Karen Murphy (John) Wilson, Raymond Ryan (Beth) Murphy III and Kim Murphy (Robbie) Mathis, as well as her nine grandchildren: Joshua Lasater Wilson, Murphy Munroe Wilson, John Ryan Wilson, Raymond Ryan (Stefanie) Murphy IV, Cole Davis (Brittney) Murphy, Rebecca Darwin Murphy, Michelle Kathleen Acuna (Steven) Smith, Almariana Jessica Acuna, Alvaro Jose Acuna III; and two great-grandchildren, William August Smith and Catherine Rae Smith. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church followed by a memorial service at 11.
