Paul Ramsey

Paul L. Ramsey, 99, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014. Paul was born in Sumner County, Tenn., on Aug. 18, 1914 to L.C. and Rebecca Hunter Ramsey. He married Doris McCartney on Oct. 8, 1938. They were married for 68 years when she went to Heaven April 16, 2006. Mr. Ramsey was the general superintendant for George Bahre Construction Co. of Indianapolis, Ind., from its inception until he retired in 1976. After retiring he built Colonial Hills Baptist Church and School of which he was a member. Paul was the last original board member of "Gods Simple Plan of Salvation" gospel tract ministry and he was a former board member of Bob Jones University of Greenville, S.C. He loved woodworking and after he retired he bagan making grandfather clocks, mantel clocks, desk clocks, etc., many out of exotic wood that his son got for him. Mr. Ramsey also had a great love for missions and the missionaries who shared the message that "...God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" ( John 3:16). Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Doris and infant daughter, Sally Jean; two brothers, Marshall and Ronald Ramsey. Mr. Ramsey is survived by his son, John (Mary) Ramsey; daughters, Beth Ann (Dennis) Carr, Martha Ramsey, Rebecca (Tulio) Suarez and Patricia (Stephen) Heller; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois (Harry) Cave and Karen (Tom) Keane; brother, Stanley (Barb) Ramsey. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, in Harrison Cemetery with Dr. Steve Euler officiating or you may visit our guestbook at www.turnerfamilyfuneralhome.com.
