Luvinia Means

Luvinia Carpenter Means, 89, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and her husband, Ozie Means Sr. Survivors include two sons, Larry and Ozie Jr.; daughter, Glenda J.Means; one granddaughter, Jellinek D. Kyle, all of Chattanooga; three nieces, Esther Daniels, of South Oz One Park, Queens, N.Y., Bertha Johnson and Josephine Collier, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; several other nieces and nephews; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law, all from Eutaw, Ala.; other relatives and friends. Service will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at Trammell Chapel with Brother Wilbert McClure officiating. The body will lie in state after noon today. Interment in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Family visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. at Hardwick and Sons Funeral Home.
