Raymond Sims

Raymond Lee Sims, 82, of Ooltewah, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014. A native of Harrison, he has been a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area. He was a member of the East Chattanooga Church of God where he served on the Pastors Council for many years and also served as a Sunday School teacher. He was retired from Woodbridge Manufacturing. He was the son of the late Arnold and Ivey Sims and was also preceded in death by his wife, Lois Cook Sims and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include two daughters, Susie (Bill) Owens, Ooltewah, Lynette (Patrick) Jordan, Chattanooga; son, Roy (Nancy) Sims, Ooltewah; granddaughter, Stephanie (Roger) Lamunyon; four grandsons, Anthony (Kristi) Sims, Patrick (Kyndall) Sims, Jeremy (Jennifer) Owens, Bryce McDaniel; three great-grandchildren, Julie Lamunyon, Brooklynn Sims and Nicholas McDaniel; sister, Joyce (Bill) Mooney, Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Valley View Chapel with the Rev. Don Glenn and the Rev. Fred Smith officiating. Interment will be in Williamson Cemetery.
