Helen Caldwell

Helen L. Givens Caldwell, 79, passed away Saturday Feb. 22, 2014. She was a LPN and had worked at the Cumberland Heights Hospital. She was born in Bryant's Cove on September 27, 1934 to Fate and Maggie Knowlan who preceded her in death along with her husband, Ralph Givens; sister, Louise Brewer; brothers, Hershell, John, George, Doug and Gilliam Knowlan. She is survived by her daughter, Belinda Darlene (Rick) Griffith; sons, Jeffery Rodney (Stacy) Givens and Darrell Roger (Buncie) Givens all of Whitwell; sisters, Marie Taylor, McMinnville, Margaret Nance, Gruetli-Laager and Troas Layne of Palmer; brothers, Preston (Willene) Knowlan, Gruetli-Laager and Charles Ray (Yoshiko) Knowlan, Harrison; grandchildren, Jamie, Susie, Ashley, Blake, BreAnn, Richelle, Dirk and Nicholas; great grandson, Noah. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Minster Delbert Layne officiating with burial to follow in the Fall Creek Cemetery.
