John Payne

John Harvey Payne, 76, of Chattanooga, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, in a local hospital. Mr. Payne was a native of Knoxville and had lived in Chattanooga for the past seven years. He was preceded in death by his parents, P.L. and Geneva M. Payne. Survivors include his wife, Marlene Miller Payne; two sons, Steve Payne, Orlando, Fla., Stewart (Julie) Payne, Chattanooga; four grandsons, Corbin Payne, Carson Payne, Orlando; Christopher Payne and Alex Payne, Chattanooga. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Chattanooga History Center, www.chattanoogahistorycenter.org.
